Recently a friend of mine loaned me a copy of Mike Chamelin's book on "The 16 Size Illinois Bunn Special 1913-1948" to peruse.

I can report that this book was well thought out and researched, superbly organized, with good to excellent photography by Robert Smothers and (although missing the three rarest BSs in existence) lays out/discusses virtually all of the variations and rarities of this popular series. I liked the personal touch and Mike's conversations in the back and other parts of the book. This is a large 9x11", heavy book with 366 pages of quality printing. Expensive at $75.00 but well worth it if you love or specialize in 16s Bunn Specials. These can be obtained directly from Mike.

Welllll...It can't be missing the rarest because it has at least one version which is probably a one off/unique variety. So...tell us which 16s Bunn Specials are missing....

JC says, "It can't be"; no, it is--do you think I am making this up?

I don't think you are making anything up Jon...I know you too well. When you say something about watches I am not one of the doubters. All I am saying is that there are a couple of what Mike calls Variants in his book that are probably one of a kind so there can't be anything "rarer." There could be some as rare but there is nothing rarer than unique....one of a kind.

'sall I'm sayin'.
