Tonight I received from a member a copy of a rather ridiculous blurb written by the usual informed and ignorant association member. In it what specifically caught my eye was a remark that E Howard, Boston movements without engraving and Id. do not exist.

This is an absurd remark and false statement. I own at least 3 or 4, plus various unique PL E Howard watches and movements that have none of the usual Howard engraving. In fact several have been depicted on this site (by me) and another is well documented in Col Townsend's notebooks dating back about 50 years.

Folks cry and whine that watches are complicated; others get so confused with the above sort of nonsense or radically incorrectly described auction sale pieces that they give up or run to RR watches. Some quit altogether due to the other perils of antique watch collecting.

Are there really that few that know/understand these collectibles(?)..... apparently so; maybe more reading is in order!
