I think this is a Ebay chicanery!

As of last week, we can no longer go into open up either the sold or completed listings - When I try, I just get redirected to a current listing.

So if I want to reference something, I have to download the listing while it is ACTIVE.

have any of you noticed this change - any idea as to WHY?!?

I don't like it either, less transparency and you can't see who won or what the bidding was like. Maybe they need the room on their servers. Geno

some additional BS from fleabay to me.....

there is a work-around listed near post 34 in this nawcc mb thread

https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/17j-18s-illinois-bunn-hunter-search.111115/#post-1202587

doubt it works for all listings...

and flebay pays someone to come up with these improvements Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes

Hasn't changed here yet.

I can still select "completed" listings or "sold" listings when searching.

Works for local stuff or international stuff.

I can not see anything where the seller does not post to Australia.

Steve -

You can still pull up those listings but you cannot open the listing itself - you just get redirected to a random (similar as per eBay) listing..

My guess is they were having too many problems with people making deals on unsold items and leaving eBay without a sale percentage.

At least for the completed listings that I tried, I could still get the completed listing. In the blue banner saying that your listing has ended but here is something that is similar. The word "listing" is a link and if you click on it, it brings you to the listing you were looking for. Not as convenient nor obvious but at least for now the info is still available.

edited: whoops! Looks like Terry's link already described the same technique!

Hi Jon,

Hope this helps. A Ball Watch fob recently ended. You can find it by the following search.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=ball+watch+fob+brotherhood&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=ball+watch+fob&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1

Select the listing for the watch fob. It will bring you to a page where you can select "see original listing"

The page that you go to will look like the following screenshot. It may be a different listing but the blue banner should be similar. Select the word "listing" that I circled. It should direct you to the ball watch fob listing.

It has now changed here as well.

You can still go to the seller, click on other items for sale and then select sold listings.

Completed listings will show you what sold and what did not.

This works for me.

When you bring up the completed listing and it gives you a short description of it and a small picture at the top right click on the picture.

For me that brings up the old listing.

Tried it 4 or 5 times and it worked every time.

Just as a comment for StephenG, who happens to live in the same town as I, when I started on eBay there was only one site, the American one. There was no Australian eBay.

When the Australian eBay was introduced (quite some time after I started), they started directing me automatically to that. I have always resisted that and I have stuck with the original American site - not only as a matter of principle, but also because my searching is usually for items that will be located in the US, anyway.

Just a comment.

Thanks Scott.
I have used the US site in the past but not for some time.
How do you get on with postage ?
I found some US sellers did not want to ship OS
I know there are ways around this with dummy US addresses but it all started to get a bit complicated and I suspect with the new GST rules for imports it will get more so.
I was playing on a couple of Hungarian sites as well till Dad passed and I lost my translator.
No more old listings!!!
