why then were early bird entrances sold at least with pre-registration???? these early bird fees allow entry during set up...if someone is naive enough to believe NO trading is done, then they are in another world !! There was trading done during set up...just as it has in the past (with maybe exception of Ft Lauderdale which would be heresay as i was not there)

I most certainly DID NOT SNEAK in any door, walked in the main entrance as i had paid to do!!

If someone did sneak in that is on THEM Evil or Very Mad and they should be outed in more than one way.

I saw NOTHING prohibiting trading 'early'.... or any notice as such.

This is the truth. The hours Friday were not great but there were two hours of trading. Again, as Rich states below, this was the largest NAWCC Mart ever. There were a lot of goods on hand but the fact is that pocket watches are not hot right now. There were a lot of wrist watches displayed and sold.

I just want to put in a plug for the Carriage Clock Display. This was on of the best and best curated displays of high end clocks I have ever seen. Among them were at least 4 Breguets. Our Chronograph display and lecture was well attended with a standing room only crowd in the auditorium. and a huge crowd for the display tour.

I was not thrilled with the hours but as Geno said, the traffic was pretty good. All in all it was a great show. Thanks to Lou & Marion and all of their great volunteer staff for the years of work that go into a successful show like this.

The National in 2020 will be Dayton (that will be a vastly improved venue than when we were there last).

Rich,

I certainly hope that's the case. The last Dayton National(2014?) was the first national I attended, and if it hadn't been for encouragement from other folks I likely never would have wanted to do another.

Aside from being on the 4th of July, I was denied unloading at the loading dock when I arrived 1 minute past the time due to traffic...and was given a flat "no" to unloading there later. I instead had to haul everything a few blocks through dimly lit parking garages to get to the convention center. I'd have been terrified if it hadn't been for a chance "escort" from our Russian friend ZB.

The venue was absolutely terrible-it seemed unsafe, parking was terrible, and access overall was terrible.
