Just looked at now.

Ive seen it before, I think at a Heritage sale. I dont feel good about it. I have other nickel 57's, and they dont look the same.

Enlarge the movement picture and take a close look at the balance cock. It may be fine but it's not fine with me.

IF you all would look at the serial number, The 2 and the 2nd 3 are very weak along the bottom.

My suspicion was the plates have been sandpapered and then nickel finished.

The damaskeening was then added. I have seen at least one other nickel PS Bartlett, and it looks nothing like this one.

Whoever did this did a nice job, but I dont think it was done at the factory.

I think the serial numbers on both movements from both places are the same. I also think someone was playing with the finish.

Also, that ishscale pattern is possibly the easiest finish to apply.

I once observed my dear friend, the late, great Dennis Harmon apply it to a surface rather easily and quickly.
