The Monday After: Event to revisit Dueber-Hampden - Canton, OH

http://www.cantonrep.com/stark/canton/x1599842525/The-Monday-After-Hoover-Historical-Center-event-revisits-Dueber-Hampden

To be directed by fellow 149er's and goodguys Bob Arnold & Bob Kerr, and also 28 member Ed Thouvenin. If I can shimmy out of work I will be in attendance and displaying my New Yorks and early Hampdens. Any serious collectors in the Canton area should really make it a point to attend this once-in-a-lifetime Hampden Exposition. There will be 3 rooms, each dedicated to the separate portions of Hampden's history - the early New York / Springfield days, the Canton Golden Era, and then finally the Russian demise.

Any questions can be directed towards Bob Arnold or myself.

Thanks,
Bryan

I have his personal watch. Which is a Hampden with a Ball dial. This was verified by ball records as well as Ball's former secretary. If I can get to the bank in enough time I will photograph the watch and send the pictures to you. A very busy time for me, but I will try my best.

Ron, that's great! If you can pull it off either post the photos here or you can send them to me at bdeyring@hotmail.com. Were there going to be notable Balls at this thing I would enjoin you to come up and join in but I know you are a very busy man.
Thanks again and look forward to seeing this great piece!

Regards,
Bryan

Yes, I remember that Hampden well as I acquired it from the remains of the Col Townsend collection.

Also to be attended by members of the Dueber family, most notably a great-great-granddaughter!

A good time was had by all at last night's presentations and display. The effort reportedly boasted over 300 visitors with a line of people out the door and clear to the back of the house. Here are some photos of the people who made it happen and their displays.

Unfortunately no remarkable finds. We did have the grandson of the final Treasurer pop into a local meeting a year ago with some protos, some of which I took photos of. I will look and see if I can't find them....
