2003 "A Edward Howard, 16 size, 23J., sapphire banking pins, wolf-tooth winding, Free sprung, Adj. 5P, DR, with original outer card and mahogany fitted box, extra mainspring, crystal and certificate, 18K Edward Howard case, sold for $17,200.00."

I believe one brought even more prior to the Atwood sale.

I wonder what a nice original example would bring now? Prices between 2010 and 2014 at J&H seem to range between $11,000 to $17,000 for examples of varying quality. I guess this just proves that quality wins out in the market. I guess my feeling is that a really good original example could bring a record price even in this depressed PW market...???

Quality always wins!

When acquiring these one has to be extremely careful of case originality and condition of the plate finish.
