The local bird watching community is all excited by the recent spotting of a "Tufted Duck"
I believe this is the first ever recorded in this part of the world.

Bird watchers are coming from far and wide in the hopes of catching a glimpse of it.
Forget the crowds at the Tennis and the Big Bash (cricket)

These guys are heading to the Western Treatment Plant.

To be fair the place is well run and has become a bit of a mecca for bird watchers.

Perhaps they arn't so keen on Vegemite and asked to be excused.

The black stains on the crackers are likely the Vegemite.

Reported today is that the latest trend is the " de cluttering " trend.

Loads of people are taking up the idea based on several popular you tube videos and they are clearing out unwanted and unloved stuff.

This stuff is going to opp shops ( second hand shops ) and we have now reached a point where they are starting to turn donations away.

In Australia there are no incentives to donate. You get noting more than the satisfaction.

Needless to say there are a lot of bargains around at the moment in these places.

Alas I suspect most people know what gold and silver is even if they don't appreciate what it's wrapped around.

The Australian open Tennis is the big event on at the moment.

Last night we saw a fantastic match between Roger and an up and coming young guy from Greece called Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Melbourne supposedly has the largest Greek community outside of Greece
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_community_of_Melbourne
and they were well represented in the crowd.

They were not disappointed and the young gun prevailed after nearly 4 hours.

A match well worth watching in you like tennis.

Another fantastic match at the Australian open last night saw Novak Djokovic through to the next round after over coming Daniil Medvedev - Just

A 4 plus hour struggle with many points going 30 to 40 shots.

Kept me in front of the box till nearly 2 am.

Well worth watching if you want to see a real man V man struggle between 2 top athletes.

It would be nice to think I could afford this but I suppose the down side would be what to do with it.

At the price it is expected to fetch you would be a bit shy about using it and it is a tad big to have on the mantle.

Lovely bit of work whatever way you look at it.
